There are many ways of expressing addresses
of Kyoto, and the most useful expression
among Kyoto people is "xx Dori Agaru
and xx Dori Sagaru (means "north side
of xx St." and "south side of xx
St.) All streets in Kyoto are called "the
squares of a go board", after all. Wide streets and
narrow lanes beautifully run from east to
west or from south to north, so all you have
to know for moving around Kyoto is the right
order of the streets. |

The definition of "Nishi (west)"
in Let's hang around in Nishi is the "Nishi (western area)"
in opposition of "Higashi (eastern one)".
Speaking of "Higashi", everybody
images Gion vicinity. Kyoto people use the
word "Higashi" like "Would
you like a little bit pleasure in Higashi
tonight?" Should I have to draw a border
line, it should be around Nijo Stn. of JR
Saiin Line. |
Spotting on the image differences, "Nishi"
is an area of mental relaxation with Sagano
and Arashiyama Mt. behind it and where court
nobles would love for peaceful living and
for villas, while "Higashi" is
a place of gorgeous Kyoto culture born and
growing.
The aim of Digital Rhino Street
is to provide
you with lively up-to-date information
of
Nishi in Kyoto, which we gathered
through
our connections and everyday
researches.
It should be our great pleasure
if you would

situated
